Echoview Licensing
Echoview offers flexible licensing options designed to support active acoustic workflows across marine, freshwater, and estuarine environments. Whether you're managing large-scale monitoring programs or undertaking short‑term targeted research, you can choose the functionality you require now, and scale over time as your work evolves.
Modules
Echoview licensing is modular, giving you access to specific functionality that suits your analytical needs. Our team will work with you to understand your data processing requirements and recommend the most appropriate modules. You can start with the core tools required for your work and add or remove modules over time as projects evolve.

Perpetual licensing
A perpetual license provides ongoing access to your licensed version of Echoview with a one-time software purchase. New perpetual licenses include 12 months of Maintenance and Technical Support (MATS), providing access to updates, new features, performance improvements, and technical support during the coverage period.
Echoview's modern licensing system also provides additional flexibility and seamless updates to license configurations when changes are made.
Perpetual licenses are provided on hardware keys using USB Type-A dongles.
Subscription licensing
Subscription licenses
Subscription licenses provide access to the latest version of Echoview for a fixed-term, including MATS for the duration of the subscription. This option ensures continuous access to software updates, new features, performance improvements, and technical support.
Subscription licenses can be offered for an annual term or as leases for shorter periods to support time-limited projects, contracts, seasonal field programs, training activities, or temporary staffing requirements.
For organizations with a perpetual license, temporary subscription modules can also be delivered on the same license where additional functionality is only required for a short period.
Subscription licenses can be provisioned with or without a physical dongle.
Cloud licenses
Echoview licensing continues to evolve, with cloud-based licensing now part of our offering. Cloud licenses are ideal for teams that need flexible access across users or locations without managing physical dongles.
Cloud licensing provides:
- Subscription-based licenses accessed via the cloud
- Floating seat licenses shared within your group
- No physical dongles required
- Supports use on virtual machines
Student licenses
For those undertaking a PhD or master’s degree, we offer heavily discounted student licenses to support academic research. These licenses provide access to Echoview’s full capabilities for 12-month periods. First year student licenses include a free seat on an Echoview Fundamentals course, equipping the next generation of hydroacoustic scientists with the tools they need to succeed.
Recreational sonar licenses
For users working solely with consumer-grade sonars, such as Lowrance or Humminbird, we offer a special, lower-cost license tailored to these data types and the specific analyses they support.

Upgrades and support
Support is an integral part of Echoview. By subscribing or maintaining MATS for your license, you gain access to the latest version of Echoview, including regular updates, new features, and ongoing performance improvements. You also benefit from direct access to our outstanding technical support from our team with experience in hydroacoustic data processing, adding our expertise to yours.
If your MATS expires, older licenses can be upgraded to access newer versions – but it’s always better value to maintain MATS.
