National Science Week 2024
We are pleased to be joining in the celebrations of National Science Week in Australia by recognizing the skills and talents of our team!
Reflecting on her role as Technical Writer Dr. Christine Weldrick, said:
"Working for years as a Zooplankton Ecologist on research vessels in Antarctica, while scientists used acoustics to track Antarctic krill, has honed my communication skills, making me a better Technical Writer at Echoview Software!"
Christine also joined a panel of experts this week to present a unique collection of articles - a Frontiers for Young Minds eBook about Antarctica and the Southern Ocean launched at Libraries Tasmania. This is a collection of 23 articles written by scientists and reviewed by a worldwide network of more than 50 young people aged between 9-14 years old.
Frontiers for Young Minds specialises in providing high-quality, plain-language articles about cutting-edge science. This online collection was written by 80 scientists from around the world, a quarter of them at the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies (IMAS) and the University of Tasmania (UTAS). So far it has been viewed more than 180,000 times.
