In March, Echoview Software hosted a free, half-day Simrad EK80 Wideband Data Processing with Echoview workshop.
The event was held in Portland, Maine USA following the 2023 International Council for the Exploration of the Seas (ICES) Fisheries and Plankton Acoustics Symposium and was graciously hosted by the Gulf of Maine Research Institute on the Portland waterfront. About 40 researchers attended the workshop.
Visual aids and educational materials prepared and presented by Echoview’s educator and hydroacoustics specialist, Dr. Toby Jarvis, kicked off lively discussions exploring what we do and don’t yet know about processing wideband data.
Participants came away with an increased understanding of wideband data and processing while recognizing that the acoustics community still has important, and as yet, unanswered questions.
Echoview Software continues to support the wideband user community with comprehensive tools available in Echoview, and additional training and tutorial materials in development.
Watch this space for updates as the training and tutorial materials become available.
