Echoview was pleased to participate online in the 2022 meeting of the ICES (International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES) Working Group on Fisheries Acoustics, Science and Technology (WGFAST), a hybrid in-person and virtual event that was hosted this year by the Institut de Recherche pour le Développement au Sénégal and held in Dakar, Senegal.
We were excited to be joining our clients, partners, friends and colleagues from around the world once again, to discuss the latest research and technologies concerned with the design, planning, execution and processing of active-sonar experiments and surveys.
As the current liaison between ICES and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), Toby Jarvis provided the group with an update on his efforts in comparing the terminology used by the fisheries acoustics community with international standards, whilst Briony Hutton shared an update on both recent and upcoming developments in Echoview.
