PhD Scholarship: Marine ecosystem mapping for spatial planning with hydroacoustics

Echoview Software is proud to support this exciting PhD position under the Blue Economy CRC's Environment and Ecosystem's program.
The PhD candidate will support development of offshore renewable energy and other activities in the Blue Economy through environmental characterization. The primary focus of this role is method development for incorporating hydroacoustic (echosounder) datasets into marine spatial planning. This project includes data analysis, mathematical modelling, and ecological application of analytical results. Success in this role requires collaboration with Echoview Software and the Blue Economy CRC.
The candidate will contribute to offshore renewable energy development and other Blue Economy activities by advancing methods to integrate information from hydroacoustic (echosounder) datasets into marine spatial planning.
The successful student will be based in the Griffith University School of Environment and Science.
As part of our commitment, Echoview Software is contributing to the stipend, offering training in acoustic data collection, processing, and analysis, and one of our Hydroacoustics Specialists will serve as the student’s industry advisor.
