Permanent researcher position in fisheries acoustics with the IMR – Bergen, Norway

The Institute of Marine Research (IMR) in Norway has a vacancy for a permanent research position in fisheries acoustics.

The position is attached to the research group Ecosystem Acoustics and will be part of a team working on modelling and on methods for analyzing large acoustic data sets using modern techniques. IMR is rapidly extending its data collection capacities with autonomous underwater and surface vessels and new imaging technologies and acoustic platforms. In addition to modelling and analysis of acoustics data, the candidate will work on large-scale acoustic data from many fields and in close collaboration with other research groups and external partners.

For the time being the candidate will be involved in existing projects, such as SFI CRIMAC, but will be expected to actively apply for research funds for future projects.

As part of the interview process, the candidate in question must be prepared to appear for a face-to-face interview.
