Where Science Meets Art

This International Day of Women and Girls in Science and Technology, we’re celebrating Christine, our talented Technical Writer, who blends scientific expertise with creativity.

With a PhD in Antarctic zooplankton ecology—specializing in sea butterflies—and her role as an Adjunct Researcher with the Australian Antarctic Program Partnership, Christine has studied how changing sea ice and pelagic conditions shape Antarctic zooplankton communities.

At Echoview Software she translates complex hydroacoustic concepts into clear, visually engaging graphic illustrations and vector drawings, helping users navigate the science clearly.

Her contributions to the intersection of science and art extend far beyond technical documentation:

  • Curated Drifters Revealed, a 2024 zooplankton-themed art exhibition at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery (TMAG)
  • Annually organizes ocean-themed art-science workshops—including ceramics, painting, and infographics—as Treasurer of the Tasmanian branch of the Australian Marine Sciences Association
  • Has had her scientific illustrations featured on conference merchandise and Antarctic voyage commemorative t-shirts
  • Crafts stunning textile art inspired by nature, from penguins to whales

Christine’s work shapes how we see, understand, and communicate the natural world, bridging the gap between scientific research and artistic expression.

Join us in celebrating the women making waves in science and technology.
