ICES 2024 Annual Science Conference (ASC) in Gateshead, UK
The ASC is a premier event within the marine science community, providing a platform to share knowledge, exchange ideas and make global connections. Over 700 delegates, mainly from Europe and North America, are expected to attend. Participants include scientists, institutional leaders, policymakers, industry stakeholders, and more.
There are 18 theme sessions on offer. Be sure to check out Theme Session A: From Echoes to Ecology – The application of active acoustics beyond biomass estimates. This session will consider the use of acoustics beyond biomass estimates, by exploring how advances in complementary technologies, alternative platforms, and interdisciplinary science can be harnessed to augment acoustic data, improve our ecological understanding, and monitor environmental change. Session conveners are Tracey Dornan (British Antarctic Survey) and Abigail Smith (Australian Antarctic Program Partnership, University of Tasmania).
