Exhibiting at the Southern Oceans Observing System (SOOS) Symposium
We are pleased to be exhibiting at the inaugural SOOS Symposium, “Southern ocean in a changing world,” August 14-18 in Hobart, Tasmania.
The Symposium aims to engage the Southern Ocean community, and enhance coordination and collaboration between nations and Southern Ocean regions, international and national observing initiatives, disciplines, and key stakeholders across all steps in the observational pathway (e.g., technological, logistical, scientific, data management and policy stakeholders).
Approximately 200-300 delegates from Australia and international institutions, programs and initiatives with an interest in Southern Ocean observations, will be attending. Symposium attendees will discuss the current observing system, the status of this system, its gaps, next steps and opportunities needed for addressing these gaps.
The SOOS is an international initiative, jointly led by the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) and the Scientific Committee on Oceanic Research (SCOR). The symposium program includes plenary presentations, panel discussions, forums, parallel sessions and workshops covering the topics below:
- Need for a Southern Ocean observing system
- Circumpolar observations and programs
- Regional observations and programs
- Data systems
- Impact of observations in policy and societal challenges
- Southern Ocean in the global UN Ocean Decade
- New observing technology and systems in Southern Ocean observations
- Gaps and next steps for the Southern Ocean observing system
We are excited to be part of this event and look forward to showcasing our software solutions for processing and interpreting hydroacoustic data.
Our flagship product, Echoview®, is trusted worldwide by scientists, fisheries professionals, and environmental managers, to visualize and analyze data for a range of applications including: stock assessment, behavior and ecology and environmental monitoring.
Echoview has compatibility across an unrivaled range of active sonars and echosounders, accommodating diverse configurations on both mobile and stationary platforms, in marine and freshwater environments.
