The role
Full-time | Permanent | Hobart
As a Technical Sales Representative, you will play an active role within the sales team. You will be responsible for day-to-day sales activity to maintain customer relationships and generate sales. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing sales opportunities – responding to enquiries, qualifying leads, developing quotations, progressing opportunities and finalising sales
- Monitoring status of annual software maintenance & support subscriptions, seeking timely renewals
- Developing and maintaining long-term, trusted relationships with customers
- Monitoring sales results, tracking progress towards goals, and preparing reports for management
- Maintaining an understanding of customer needs and assisting in communications between customers and internal support staff
- Working with the company’s CRM and sales systems, keeping them up-to-date and accurate
- Contributing to company market strategies by monitoring and reporting on customer requirements or feedback
- Participating in customer facing activities, such as meetings and trade shows
- Fulfilling sales orders
- Managing stock of licensing and shipping materials
This role will suit someone with experience in sales, or a scientist looking to move into the commercial space.

- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- The right to work in Australia
Desirable:
- Experience in sales
- Experience in the administration of a CRM system
Experience in software business or the marine sector is an advantage.
